The Isle of Man Medical Centre in Kabuga, Rwanda
Drop Inn Ministries
Status: Currently seeking funding/sponsors
Medical Centre
The clinic built for the widows and orphans, as a result of the Genocide, many of which were raped and infected with HIV and the Aids virus is now completed thanks to the generosity of the people on the Isle of Man.
The clinic will provide specialist treatments focused on Physiotherapy, Counselling, Ophthalmic, Dental, Ear, Nose and Throat and all related conditions associated with HIV. The clinic has six treatment rooms, a waiting area, reception and laboratory for blood testing, however we desperately need organisations or companies to provide funding for equipment in the medical clinic.
Overseeing the project in Rwanda is genocide survivor John Gakwandi. He has spoken of the gratitude of the local people, “What you are doing is really a titanic venture of faith. We appreciate you so much".
We are desperatley in need of funding for the road from the town to the clinic. Due to the distance and costs most of the road so far has been through manual labour.
Funding required
This project is totally funded by the Isle of Man and our target is £120,000.
All funds from the Thrift shop in Ramsey are being channelled into this project.
Sponsors
We need sponsors to help with the road to the clinic and medical equipment for inside.
